The goal of a terrorist is to cause terror. If we give in to fear, their goal is achieved. If we refuse to be terrorized, then the ultimate loss is theirs.

Bosch Launches New CCTV, Fire, Intruder, and Communications Products at IFSEC 2005
Bosch Security Systems will be showing many new products at IFSEC 2005: In addition to the latest CCTV cameras featuring day and night capability, there will be advanced new single and multi-channel DVRs, Video Management Systems, as well as new Intruder Detectors, new FPA 5000 Fire Panels, PA/Emergency Evacuation and Personal Security/Paging Systems all designed to meet the needs of specifiers, installers and end-users.

Digital Video Recorders. Bosch is introducing its new DVR1A and DVR1C low cost DVRs featuring 80 or 160 GB hard disks making them ideal for replacing traditional VCRs. Both can record in continuous or time-lapse mode for over a week from single or multiple cameras (with a multiplexer) and the C model features networking facilities for remote viewing and control. Other features include alarms, pre-event video recording, fast searching plus the ability to easily transfer video footage to a PC using a Compact Flash card for archiving.

Also on display is the new Divar 2 offering all the facilities of a high-end Digital Video Recorder plus a built-in DVD Writer for easy archiving of large amounts of Video without a PC. Another new Divar model features a built-in BiLinx interface, allowing Cameras and Domes to be controlled over the existing coax cable, greatly simplifying installation and set-up. The Divar range includes 6, 9 or 16 Channel models capable of continuous or alarm recording of all Cameras. Multiple Divars are easily linked to handle hundreds of Cameras at single or multiple locations with advanced alarms, fast digital search and many other features including Kalagate video authentication approval and ATM/cash machine interfaces for bank or retail use.

Bosch is also highlighting the latest additions to their new DiBos Digital Image Storage and Transmission System, which provides a complete security solution for a wide range of situations such as banks, hotels, retail chains, railway stations and airports, public and corporate buildings, town centres, industrial facilities, and many other indoor and outdoor locations. DiBos allows multi-image viewing of live or recorded images from up to 32 local cameras, plus an additional 16 IP-Addressable Cameras with separate Pan, Tilt and Zoom functions for each individual camera.

Bosch’s Camera line-up at IFSEC boasts the latest Dinion models including the new DinionXF featuring enhanced day/night models providing high quality surveillance round the clock, plus the major benefit of full 16 bit video processing for superb image quality. Other major additions are the new FlexiDomeXT Cameras which bring NightSense Day/Night capability, Vandal-Proof Housings and a wider range of lens types and mountings to the growing FlexiDome Family.

Bosch is also showing their AutoDomes Range Plus Eazeo Observation Systems, now with new Covert Cameras and matching DVR. Bosch is launching their new Easy Series Intrusion Detection Panels designed for residential and small business users. With Easy Series, there’s no need to read a manual: everything is color coded and set-up is voice prompted. Easy Series can handle up to 8 points and 4 external intruder detectors as well as fire detectors for a complete solution. Bosch is also introducing new modules for their Blue Line PIR Intrusion Detectors which make it even easier for installers to complete installations first time with the minimum of parts held in stock. Blueline is a modular solution with a blue LED for motion instead of the usual red. Installation is quick and easy, and plug-in camera modules extend their versatility even further.

The new FAP 500 "invisible" smoke detector is aimed at areas of high architectural standards such as hotels, offices, retail and leisure premises, casinos, homes and other applications where near invisible fire detection is required. The FAP 500 can be flush mounted into the ceiling leaving only a smooth sealed faceplate hardly visible from below. The faceplate of the detector can also be color matched to the ceiling using a unique color ring insert system. Its sealed construction means it is immune to dust or insects while the FAP 500-OC Version boasts an additional CO Detection Element for even greater false alarm resistance and faster smoke detection. Also new is the FPA 5000 Modular Fire Panel — a modular system using standard components to meet a wide variety of needs from a small council building or a hospital with more than 4000 detectors. This groundbreaking modular panel provides a flexible and expandable solution with a bus system for plug-in modules employing "click and go" technology. Unlike existing fire panels, the new Modular Fire Panel has no exposed circuit boards. Modules are "hot plugged" in and automatically connected to the fire panel controller as they are inserted. The modules are encapsulated to make them robust for safety and to protect them from electrostatic discharge.

Bosch’s new Plena Voice Alarm System brings public safety messaging and evacuation announcements to smaller areas where it was previously too expensive. The latest Plena Voice Alarm System, meets all requirements of IEC60849, the European standard for voice alarm systems for factories, offices, hotels, shopping malls, supermarkets, schools, and sports facilities. This new system includes all essential EVAC functions such as system supervision, spare amplifier switching, loudspeaker line supervision, digital message management, and an interface for a fireman's panel. The six-zone Plena Voice Alarm System provides a 240-Watt Booster amplifier and a Supervised Digital Message Manager for up to 255 pre-recorded announcements or chimes that create a comprehensive set of evacuation messages. Control from a remote location is offered via optional Remote Control Panels or Fireman’s panels. Configurations can be extended to cover up to sixty zones using additional Six Zone Routers.

Bosch is also highlighting their Praesideo Public Address and Emergency Sound System with the addition of the new CobraNet Networking Interface Unit. Cobranet extends operation to over 50 km or more, making it ideal for surface and underground rail networks, tunnels and transport systems, sports arenas, airports and large distributed buildings. Other potential applications are in large industrial plants, and other sizeable sites where more than the Praesideo maximum of 244 zones are required, or where longer distances have to be covered. CobraNet allows two or more Praesideo systems to be linked for real-time uncompressed distributed digital audio over a 100Mbps fast Ethernet network.

Bosch Paging Products include the latest PS6000 Personal Security Pagers designed to safeguard personnel and speed up response to emergencies. The PS-Pager is a compact text and speech unit featuring a manual alarm and RF location detection to ensure fast accurate response. The PS-Tranceiver adds talkback and can dial into public telephone networks and includes alarms for move/tilt, tear-out, fast movement and locations detection etc. A more discreet PS-Micro Transmitter is easliy concealed in clothing yet provides alarms, location detection etc and is ideal where visible pagers can cause tension and to make the pagers more difficult to remove.
