Newsflash
The goal of a terrorist is to cause terror. If we give in to fear, their goal is achieved. If we refuse to be terrorized, then the ultimate loss is theirs.

CCTV By The Dozen by Peter Stebbings
Barnet Council has spent £300,000 installing 12 CCTV cameras in Barnet town centre in the hope they will discourage anti-social behaviour and catch out people committing crimes in the area. All 12 cameras, which are dotted along High Street, Barnet, are expected to be fully operational by the end of the week, with three-quarters of them up and running since Friday. A similar setup of network cameras, albeit on a smaller scale, has been operating in East Barnet village and is credited with reducing the instances of anti-social behaviour there. Barnet councillor Brian Salinger, cabinet member for housing neighbourhoods and community safety, said: "CCTV is now a fact of life, unfortunately, and helps to tackle crime and disorder. "We are continuing to roll out a programme of introducing them to areas, after discussions with police where there is a problem with anti-social behaviour in particular, and High Street, Barnet, is one of those spots." The cameras are manned by police at a CCTV centre and can be controlled to follow the movements of people behaving suspiciously or anti-socially.
