Student Discovers Hidden Camera In Dorm Shower |
|
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A Quinnipiac
University student said he was shocked when he looked up and saw a blinking red
light while showering, NBC 30 reported. The light was from a hidden
camera up in the grates above the shower.
Sophomore Doug Manners lives in
a suite with seven other male students, including one nicknamed Opie, who serves
as the hall's residential advisor. Opie first alerted security about the camera,
but then fessed up to his suite mates and admitted to placing the camera in the
shower, NBC 30 reported. "Opie just looked at us and said, 'I'm sorry, guys. I
was the one who put the camera up there. It had nothing to do with you, it was
something between me and my girlfriend,'" said Manners. "This action had the potential
to greatly compromise student privacy, and as a result, University officials have
imposed sanctions on the student in question," said John W. Morgan, Quinnipiac
University's Public Relations Director. A school administrator reportedly told
Manners the camera wasn't operating correctly -- that it wasn't actually going
anywhere and they found no footage of the students. When asked if he believed
the administrator, Manners told NBC 30 "I'm skeptical. I don't have any reason
not to believe it, but it's ... I don't know to be sure. from nbc30 |
